ADEN, Yemen, Sept. 24 (Xinhua) -- Two bombs exploded in Yemen's southern port city of Aden on Saturday evening, but no one was injured, a security official said.
Two bombs exploded along a road linking the Khor Maksar district and the Aden's eastern entrance of al-Alam military checkpoint, the local security official told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
The twin explosions occurred just a few meters away from the military checkpoint, where dozens of army troops and armored vehicles stationed, he said, adding that no casualties were reported.
The unsuccessful blast bore the hallmarks of the al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), according to the official.
The government forces have been fighting with AQAP militants for more than three months after the terrorists took control of several cities in the Abyan province, forcing many of the network members to flee and search for safer places in other neighboring provinces.
