ADEN, Yemen, June 7 (Xinhua) -- Clashes between the army forces and armed tribesmen supported by defected soldiers continued in Yemen's southern province of Taiz on Tuesday, leaving two soldiers killed and four others injured, a local security official told Xinhua.
The armed tribesmen seized control of most parts of Taiz province following several attacks against the military troops, the official said.
Dozens of armed tribesmen who are believed to be supported by the army dissidents marched the streets to protect the anti- government protesters in the province, which has witnessed violence for months, he added.
Taiz province has seen deadly clashes between tribesmen and security forces after the later opened fire to disperse anti- government protesters at the end of last month, killing dozens of people.
