ADEN, Yemen, April 28 (Xinhua) -- At least three soldiers were injured Thursday when separatists gunmen attacked military vehicles guarding the Central Bank of Yemen in the country's southern port city of Aden, local official and witnesses said.
A group of separatists gunmen attacked the military patrol stationed next to the Central Bank in Crater district with grenades, injuring three soldiers, one of them in critical condition, the official told Xinhua, who asked to be anonymous.
Heavy fire and armed clashes followed the explosion, the official said, adding that military reinforcements arrived at the scene.
Local residents told Xinhua that the shooting continued for more than 20 minutes and some residential buildings located near the blast were affected.
