Deputy Interior Minister Hussein al-Zawa’ari said on Friday that the armed separatist movement was behind the killings and riots in Aden governorate on Wednesday.
Al-Zawa’ari told the ruling party’s almotamar.net website that Aden has witnessed daily protests that were monitored by security forces. The source said that a number of the separatist movement’s armed members participated in the Wednesday demonstration.
The armed members assaulted the Local Council headquarters in al-Mansoura district of Aden and burned cars in. Many of the armed elements entered Aden from neighboring governorates and fired shots against security forces and peaceful demonstrators in al-Mansoura and Sheikh Othman districts, al-Zawa’ari added.
